Pilihan untuk membentuk Kopkardios dalam rangka mengatasi kesulitan ekonomi oleh para pendiri dan penggagas di lingkup Keuskupan Ruteng adalah salah satu bentuk keutamaan sebagai orang benar. (Damasus Agas, Ketua Badan Pengurus Kopkardios).

Motto ini juga mengisyaratkan roh persatuan yang jelas dalam kampanye Gereja zaman ini di mana orang miskin menolong sesama orang miskin (the poor helping the poor) dan terbangunnya rasa solidaritas yang bernas di antara individu dan kelompok dalam masyarakat dari berbagai kelas sosial.

Sebagai pemimpin Gereja Lokal Keuskupan Ruteng, kami perlu menggarisbawahi kembali pentingnya bekerja sebagai sebuah spiritualitas kristiani. Kerja merupakan panggilan hidup manusia. Melalui kerja manusia mengambil bagian dalam tata penciptaan Allah. Manusia menjadi rekan kerja Allah (co-creator). Oleh karena manusia bekerja, dia sedang terlibat membangun tata dunia. Pentingnya kerja menjadi bagian yang tak terpisahkan dari karya penebusan. Bahkan rasul Paulus pernah dengan tegas mengatakan, “Barangsiapa tidak bekerja, janganlah dia makan” (2Tes 3:6-15). Bekerja adalah jalan menghasilkan sesuatu secara halal dan legal. Dalam konteks keikutsertaan dalam Koperasi Kredit, hal ini menjadi tiang penyokong utama. Seseorang baru dapat menabung jika dia memiliki penghasilan.


· Kehadiran Kopkardios di tengah umat Keuskupan Ruteng hemat kami adalah bentuk implementasi iman akan Yesus yang ditunjukkan dalam kerja nyata melalui pembangunan bidang ekonomi demi menyejahterakan masyarakat. Melalui niat dan komitmen bersama untuk membentuk lembaga keuangan yang ditandai dengan solidaritas antar anggota, Kopkardios secara eksplisit ingin mengimplementasikan cara hidup jemaat perdana yang saling mengasihi dan saling berbagi satu sama lain (Kis 2:42-45).
