Frederikus Narut Taku (Dokpri)

Frederikus lahir di Wae Rambung, Lambaleda, Manggarai Timur pada 29 Juni 1933. Mereka hidup berpindah-pindah mengikuti ayah mereka, Aloysius Taku yang berprofesi sebagai guru Sekolah Rakyat. Jika saudara-saudaranya mengenyam pendidikan yang lebih tinggi, Frederikus sebaliknya hanya menyelesaikan pendidikan dasar.

Mula-mula profesinya di bidang pemerintahan desa adalah Juru Tulis. Lama kelamaan dirinya dipercaya untuk jabatan yang lebih tinggi yakni kepala desa.

“Bapa seorang yang memiliki kemampuan memimpin, kehidupan social kemasyarakatannya bagus, ia mencintai pekerjaan, rajin dan disiplin. Karena itu dia dipilih untuk menjadi Kepala Desa Watu oleh pemerintah kecamatan kala itu”, ungkap Laurens Taku, anaknya.

Selama menjabat sebagai Kepala Desa, Bapa Frederikus sungguh menampilkan kemampuan memimpin wilayahnya dengan penuh tanggung jawab. Darah kepemimpinan yang terbawa dalam dirinya dari turunan Ruteng Puú menjadi landasan alamiah untuk membawa desa Watu ke arah yang lebih teratur.

“Bapa memimpin dengan bijaksana. Ia tidak memaksakan kehendak. Pendekatannya persuasive. Hingga masyarakat mengikutinya. Maklum kala itu, betapa susah mengubah konsep masyarakat karena sumber daya manusianya masih lemah”, lanjut Bapa Laurens.

Dalam pandangan Bapa Herman Djegaut, Bapa Frederikus adalah seorang pemimpin desa yang setia kepada pelayanan terhadap masyarakat. “Di zaman Orde Baru, menemukan pemimpin yang memiliki pendekatan persuasive agak sulit. Kala itu, hampir semua karakter pemimpin adalah otoriter. Pak Frederikus ini termasuk salah satu kekecualiannya”, kesan Bapa Herman pada suatu sesi wawancara.
